Maplewood — Neighborhood Beautification Program
Maplewood focused on mixed-residential corridors where unsightly uncovered enclosures lowered property values. The Adopt-a-Dumpster™ team partnered with a neighborhood association to list 18 sites; 12 received full sponsorship. Results: 12 dumpsters secured • 420,000 gallons of runoff prevented/year • 1 neighborhood association sponsor + 4 small business sponsors • Project duration: 8 weeks. Impact: residents reported improved alleyway cleanliness and a local café used the program story in their sustainability marketing.
