Get Involved / Volunteer
You don’t have to be a business owner or city official to make a difference — you just have to care about clean water and a cleaner community.
The Adopt-a-Dumpster™ program welcomes volunteers of all ages and backgrounds to help inspect, report, and maintain covered dumpsters throughout your city.
By joining the movement, you’ll be part of a hands-on environmental effort that keeps stormwater clean, supports local compliance, and educates the public about the importance of responsible waste management.
Why Volunteer?
Every uncovered dumpster contributes to storm drain pollution, landfill runoff, and local code violations. By volunteering, you help us:
Identify and report uncovered dumpsters that need attention
Assist with local cleanups and education campaigns
Support small businesses and nonprofits who want to stay compliant
Collect data for our environmental impact dashboard
Build awareness around Clean Water Act, MS4, and SB-1383 initiatives
Volunteers are the eyes and ears of the program — helping us protect waterways, prevent fines, and transform city alleys into clean, sustainable spaces.
